The name of the lyricist of song 11 has been taken from the publicity booklet of the film, although the name Shailendr appears on the 78 rpm records. Child Ranadheer Kapoor is the one playing with a dog in the titles. Madame Simkie who did the choreography for the dream sequence (of Raaj Kapoor) was a member of Uday Shankar’s dance group and also did the choreography for Jhaansee Kee Raanee (1953). Tune of ‘o basantee pavan paagal’ is heard in the background. The roti scene by Raaj Kapoor in jail was enacted by Vyjayanteemaalaa in Aashaa (1957). There was a Turkish remake Avare (1964), which itself inspired an Earaaneean remake The Wheel of the Universe (60s).
